Our Approach

Nala relies on techniques validated by scientific research to guide you toward calm, sleep and well-being. Each approach was chosen for its documented effectiveness and complementarity.

7 Research-Based Approaches

Each technique used in Nala is supported by scientific publications. Here are the 7 pillars of our method:

Mindfulness Meditation

Mindfulness meditation involves paying attention to the present moment without judgment. It helps reduce stress and improve focus.

Goyal M. et al. (2014). Meditation Programs for Psychological Stress and Well-Being. JAMA Internal Medicine, 174(3), 357-368.

Guided Hypnosis

Guided hypnosis uses deep relaxation and suggestion to promote behavioral change. It is used in hospital settings for pain and anxiety management.

Elkins G.R. et al. (2015). Advancing Research and Practice: The Revised APA Division 30 Definition of Hypnosis. International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis, 63(1), 1-9.

Sophrology

Sophrology combines controlled breathing, muscle relaxation and positive visualization. Created in 1960 by neuropsychiatrist Alfonso Caycedo, it is widely practiced in Europe.

Caycedo A. (2018). Sophrologie Caycédienne: Foundations and Methodology. Éditions Sofrocay.

ASMR

ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) is a soothing tingling sensation triggered by certain auditory stimuli. It is studied for its relaxing effects and potential to improve sleep.

Poerio G.L. et al. (2018). More than a feeling: Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) is characterized by reliable changes in affect and physiology. PLOS ONE, 13(6).

Yoga Nidra

Yoga nidra, or "yogic sleep," is a guided deep relaxation practice. The practitioner remains conscious while reaching a state between wakefulness and sleep.

Moszeik E.N. et al. (2020). Effectiveness of yoga nidra on anxiety, sleep quality and well-being. International Journal of Yoga, 13(2), 116-123.

Breathing Exercises

Controlled breathing techniques (cardiac coherence, 4-7-8 breathing, diaphragmatic breathing) activate the parasympathetic nervous system and reduce heart rate.

Ma X. et al. (2017). The Effect of Diaphragmatic Breathing on Attention, Negative Affect and Stress. Frontiers in Psychology, 8, 874.

Sleep Stories

Audio sleep stories use a decelerating narrative rhythm, soothing voice and soundscapes to accompany the transition to sleep.

Messineo L. et al. (2017). Broadband Sound Administration Improves Sleep Onset Latency. Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine, 13(3), 381-386.

Why Combine These Approaches?

Every person is different. Some find calm through breathing, others through stories, others through hypnosis. By combining 7 complementary approaches, Nala offers a wide range of solutions adapted to every moment of your day: morning, break, evening, night.
